Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive, dynamic, and results-oriented Manager – Business Development (Fly Ash Utilisation) to drive business growth in ash handling, transportation, and disposal services within the thermal power sector. The ideal candidate will bring strong domain expertise in ash handling technologies, a well-established network across government and private power utilities, and a proven track record in industrial project bidding and client acquisition.
Experience in selling electrical/mechanical equipment, O&M solutions, consumables, or logistics services to thermal power plants is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in ash handling, transportation, and disposal services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in government and private thermal power utilities.
- Leverage industry networks to generate and convert business opportunities.
- Collaborate with operations and technical teams for site visits, feasibility analysis, and detailed cost estimation.
- Track tender portals and industry updates for relevant opportunities.
- Prepare pre-qualification documents, technical proposals, and commercial bids in coordination with internal teams.
- Ensure timely and compliant submission of tenders and proposals.
Client Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact during pre-bid, bidding, and post-bid stages.
- Attend technical discussions and conduct site visits to understand client requirements.
- Align service offerings with client expectations and project needs.
Contract Finalization
- Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, timelines, and scope of work.
- Coordinate with legal and commercial teams to finalize contracts and agreements.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with project execution, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless delivery aligned with commitments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in any discipline (Engineering preferred).
- 2–15 years of experience in business development, sales, or procurement within thermal power, steel, or related industries.
- Proven experience in selling products/services to thermal power plants (equipment, O&M, consumables, or logistics).
- Strong database and network across Thermal Power Plants / Cement / RMC / Mining sectors.
- Ability to analyze tender documents and prepare competitive bids.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Result-driven mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards.
