We are seeking an experienced AVP, Data Analytics & Reporting - Data Engineering Lead to spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines and infrastructure, enabling advanced analytics and reporting and automation capabilities for Wealth Advisor Group. This role will involve leading a team of data engineers, setting technical direction, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable data solutions.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Lead and manage a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Architect, design, develop, and implement scalable and reliable data pipelines using various ETL/ELT tools and techniques for batch and real-time data processing.
- Oversee the construction and optimization of data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions to support business intelligence and analytical needs.
- Leverage modern AI Tools to automate data preparation and advance reporting maturity
- Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, data quality, data security, and data lineage across all data engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to enhance data engineering capabilities and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, data models, and data pipelines.
- Ensure the operational stability, performance, and security of all data engineering systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in data engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Participate in strategic planning and roadmap development for data analytics and reporting initiatives.
Job Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, with at least 5 years in a technical leadership role .
- Proven expertise in designing, building, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and data warehouses.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with various relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, MongoDB).
- Extensive experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their respective data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue etc.).
- Demonstrated experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
- Solid programming skills in relevant languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts (e.g., Kimball, Inmon), and ETL/ELT methodologies.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and their integration with data platforms.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
- Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
