Shillong Lajong Football Club has long been a pioneer in identifying and grooming grassroots talent in Northeast India. Our academy is the cornerstone of our philosophy, consistently producing top-tier athletes for the national team and elite domestic leagues. We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Academy Manager to sustain and elevate our youth development standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum & Philosophy: Oversee the implementation and evolution of the club’s football philosophy across all youth age groups.
* Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate academy coaches, medical staff, and support personnel.
* Scouting & Recruitment: Lead the talent identification strategy to recruit the finest young players from the region and across the country.
* Player Pathways: Work closely with the Head of Youth Development Coach as well as Senior Team Coach to ensure a seamless transition of academy players into the first team.
* Operations & Welfare: Oversee day-to-day academy logistics, tournament schedules, accommodation facilities, and ensure the academic/holistic well-being of residential players.
* Assist in budgeting, reporting, and resource management.
* Liaise with parents, schools, football associations, and external stakeholders.
* Manage player registration, documentation, and compliance requirements.
* Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and disciplinary standards are maintained.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Technical: Holder of a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management/Sports Science with substantial football operations experience.
* Experience: A minimum of 1–2 years of working within a professional football club’s youth setup or a recognized elite academy.
* Skills: Exceptional communication, conflict-resolution, and administrative skills. Proficiency in modern football management software/data tools is a plus.
* Cultural Fit: Deep understanding of the football landscape in the Northeast and a passion for holistic youth development.
