Role Overview
We are looking for a Finance Team Lead to manage day-to-day finance operations for our India entity while supporting group-level reporting and compliance. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment, can independently own financial processes, and is ready to build and mentor a small finance team as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations & Accounting
a. Own end-to-end accounting operations for the India entity, including AP/AR, payroll coordination, and general ledger management
b. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures
c. Manage statutory compliance — GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Income Tax, and other applicable Indian regulatory filings
d. Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies
Reporting & Analysis
a. Prepare monthly MIS reports, cash flow statements, and budget vs. actual analysis
b. Prepare group-level consolidation and reporting requirements across Valeo Health entities
c. Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making
d. 7–8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity
Compliance & Controls
a. Ensure adherence to Indian accounting standards (Ind AS) and statutory requirements
b. Establish and maintain internal financial controls and SOPs
c. Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities
Team & Stakeholder Management
a. Lead and mentor junior finance/accounting team members
b. Partner with People/HR, Operations, and Leadership on budgeting, payroll finance inputs, and vendor payments
c. Liaise with the broader Valeo Health finance function (including ADGM entity finance) for cross-entity coordination
Requirements
a. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce; CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred
b. 5–8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory capacity
c. Strong working knowledge of Indian statutory compliance (GST, TDS, PF, ESI, corporate tax)
d. Prior experience in a start-up or fast-growth environment strongly preferred
e. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books) and MS Excel/Google Sheets
f. Health tech, healthcare, or regulated-industry experience is a plus
g. Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-border/multi-entity teams
