Job Summary
Bug & Bean Café is looking for a passionate, experienced, and skilled Senior Chef de Partie (Senior CDP) to lead kitchen operations and ensure exceptional food quality. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Continental cuisine, with the ability to prepare, present, and maintain high-quality dishes consistently in a fast-paced café environment.
The Senior CDP will be responsible for managing a designated kitchen section, supervising and mentoring junior kitchen staff, maintaining hygiene and food safety standards, controlling food quality and portion consistency, and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations. The candidate should be creative, organized, and capable of handling busy service hours while contributing to menu innovation and delivering an outstanding dining experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage a designated kitchen section efficiently.
- Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to café standards.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Supervise, train, and guide Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants.
- Ensure timely preparation and service during peak hours.
- Monitor food stock levels and coordinate ingredient ordering.
- Minimize food wastage through proper portion control and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Inspect the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal specials.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen equipment and workstations.
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Handle customer food modifications and dietary requirements when required.
- Support cost control initiatives while maintaining high food quality.
- Step in to manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.

Qualifications

- 2-4 years of kitchen experience, with at least 2 years as a CDP or Senior CDP [Continental cuisine] in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
