Role Overview
Responsible for managing VMware virtual infrastructure and physical servers, ensuring high availability, performance, security, compliance, and smooth IT operations in an enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments.
- Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
- Manage VMs, backups, restores, disaster recovery, and server security.
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot server, virtualization, storage, and network
- issues.
- Manage SAN, NAS, and iSCSI storage solutions.
- Perform server upgrades, migrations, patching, and capacity planning.
- Maintain documentation and resolve incidents within SLA timelines.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in VMware/Server Administration.
- Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Experience with server hardware, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Familiarity with PowerShell or Bash scripting.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- VMware VCP, MCSE, or CompTIA Server+ certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or SolarWinds.
- Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and Puppet.
