PHP CodeIgniter developer builds and maintains web applications using the CodeIgniter framework, MySQL databases, and front-end tools. Knowing React, Python, or Django is valuable because it shifts your role into a flexible full-stack position, though opinions on mixing PHP and Python ecosystems vary widely across platforms .
Job Role and Core Duties
- *Coding:* Write clean PHP code using CodeIgniter's MVC pattern.
- *Databases:* Manage MySQL or MariaDB queries and data flow.
- *APIs:* Build and connect RESTful APIs.
- *Front-End:* Use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- *Testing:* Fix bugs and test website speed.
*Value of React, Python, and Django Skills*
- *React:* Helps you build modern, fast, and interactive user interfaces instead of relying only on old PHP page loads. Many companies list React as a strong bonus skill.
- *Python & Django:* These belong to a totally different technology stack. While you rarely use CodeIgniter and Django on the exact same project, knowing Python makes you a multi-stack developer who can work on data-heavy or AI-backed systems alongside legacy PHP apps.
