A Product Manager in a pharmaceutical company is responsible for managing the strategy, positioning, promotion, and growth of assigned pharmaceutical products/brands. The role works closely with sales, medical, marketing, regulatory, and management teams.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Develop brand/product strategy and annual marketing plans.
- Conduct market, competitor, prescription, and customer analysis.
- Plan new product launches and product positioning.
- Prepare promotional materials such as visual aids, product literature, leave-behinds, and campaign concepts.
- Train the sales/field force on product knowledge, positioning, USPs, and competitor handling.
- Coordinate with doctors/KOLs, sales teams, medical teams, and external agencies.
- Track product-wise sales, market share, growth, ROI, and campaign performance.
- Identify new market opportunities and recommend line extensions/new products.
- Ensure promotional communication complies with applicable pharma and regulatory requirements.
- Support conferences, CMEs, doctor engagement programs, and other brand activities.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly product performance reports and corrective action plans.
Common qualification: B.Pharm/M.Pharm; MBA/PGDM in Marketing is often preferred.
Useful KPIs: Product sales growth, market-share growth, achievement vs target, new-product launch performance, campaign ROI, doctor engagement, prescription generation, field-force effectiveness, and marketing budget utilization.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
