Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Plumbing & Fire Draftsman with 3–4 years of experience in the MEP industry. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed plumbing and fire-fighting drawings, coordinating with other MEP disciplines, and supporting the design team in delivering projects as per applicable standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed Plumbing and Fire-Fighting MEP drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop layouts for domestic water supply, drainage, storm water, rainwater, and sanitary systems.
- Prepare fire-fighting layouts including sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire pump room, and fire tank layouts.
- Prepare shop drawings, working drawings, schematic drawings, and coordination drawings.
- Coordinate plumbing and fire-fighting drawings with HVAC, Electrical, Structural, and Architectural drawings.
- Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, levels, sections, and annotations.
- Incorporate design changes and comments received from engineers and consultants.
- Assist engineers in preparing BOQ, material schedules, and drawing documentation when required.
- Ensure drawings are prepared as per project specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.
- Maintain proper revision control and drawing records.
- Conduct site visits when required and update drawings based on site conditions.
- Support the engineering team in resolving drawing-related coordination issues.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and MEP drafting.
- Good understanding of Plumbing and Fire-Fighting systems.
- Knowledge of pipe routing, pipe sizing concepts, equipment layouts, and coordination.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Good knowledge of MEP drawing standards, symbols, sections, and detailing.
- Knowledge of Revit MEP will be an added advantage.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / Certificate in Mechanical, Civil, Plumbing, or MEP Drafting.
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in Plumbing & Fire-Fighting drafting within the MEP industry.
Preferred Candidate
- Experience in MEP consultancy, building services, commercial, residential, hospitality, or industrial projects.
- Candidates with strong knowledge of both Plumbing and Fire-Fighting drawings will be preferred.
