Position Summary
The Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The teacher fosters a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
The role includes developing transdisciplinary learning experiences, assessing student progress, collaborating with colleagues and parents, and promoting the IB Learner Profile attributes.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework.
- Integrate Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and other relevant subjects through transdisciplinary learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
- Foster literacy, numeracy, and foundational developmental skills appropriate for Grade 1 learners.
Classroom Environment
- Establish a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture.
- Maintain effective classroom management and student behavior expectations.
- Ensure student wellbeing, safety, and emotional development.
- Encourage independence, responsibility, and international-mindedness.
Assessment & Reporting
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and development.
- Prepare report cards, portfolios, and student-led conference materials.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with grade-level teachers, specialists, and coordinators on curriculum planning.
- Participate actively in PYP meetings, school events, and professional development sessions.
- Build strong partnerships with parents through regular communication and conferences.
- Contribute to school initiatives, activities, and the wider learning community.
IB Responsibilities
- Promote and model the IB Learner Profile and Approaches to Learning (ATL).
- Support inquiry-driven and concept-based teaching practices.
- Participate in IB training, curriculum development, and authorization/evaluation processes when required.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
