About Us
Cavallo is a new specialty coffee café and European-style kitchen opening in Jalandhar. We're building the city's most serious coffee program, running professional espresso equipment (La Marzocco espresso machine, Mahlkönig grinders) alongside a full patisserie and kitchen. We're hiring the founding team — the people who will set the standard from day one.
The Role
As a barista at Cavallo, you'll prepare espresso-based drinks, cold coffees, and manual brews to consistent, high standards. You'll be trained on world-class equipment and expected to treat coffee as a craft, not just a job.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso, cappuccino, lattes, cold coffee, and other beverages to recipe and standard
- Dial in the grinder daily and maintain shot consistency
- Steam and pour milk properly; latte art skills are a plus
- Keep the espresso machine, grinders, and bar area spotless throughout the shift
- Take customer orders warmly and confidently, recommend drinks, handle billing at the counter when needed
- Manage bar inventory (beans, milk, syrups) and flag stock needs
- Follow opening and closing checklists (café opens at 7 AM — morning shift availability required)
Requirements
- 1+ year experience as a barista in a café, specialty coffee shop, or hotel (freshers with genuine passion for coffee may apply for a trainee position)
- Basic understanding of espresso extraction and milk steaming
- Punctual, well-groomed, and comfortable in a customer-facing role
- Able to communicate in Hindi/Punjabi; basic English preferred
- Willing to work weekends and morning shifts
