Job Summary
A techno-functional leadership role responsible for translating Life Insurance Operations requirements into high-quality business requirements, functional specifications, process designs, and system enhancements. The role acts as the bridge between operations, product, technology, and testing teams to deliver change initiatives with strong governance, control, and business impact.
The incumbent is expected to bring strong domain expertise in Life Insurance operations, hands-on experience in BRD/FRD/FSD preparation, UAT management, process re-engineering, and automation-led improvements, with good working knowledge of core platforms such as Ingenium.
Key Responsibilities
Lead requirement discovery workshops with business, operations, technology, and downstream stakeholders to understand business objectives, pain-points, and target-state expectations.
Evaluate current-state processes and systems, identify opportunities for simplification, control strengthening, STP improvement, digitization, and customer/distributor experience enhancement.
Preparation/Reviewing the BRD and FSD for functionalities to be built and baseline BRD/FRD/FSD/use cases/process maps/user stories with complete traceability, business rules,exception scenarios, and acceptance criteria
Reduction in requirement gaps, faster BRD turnaround, better UAT quality, lower production defects, or process TAT improvement
Leverage enterprise AI copilots and analytics tools for requirement summarization, impact analysis, process mining, test cases creation and stakeholder communication under proper governance.
Mention projects involving product launches, system changes, regulatory implementations, process digitization, or AI-assisted productivity improvements in Life Insurance.
Support solution design reviews to ensure alignment with business intent, control requirements, customer impact, and operational feasibility.
Own UAT planning, scenario identification, test case review, defect triage support, business sign-off, and go-live readiness from a business analysis perspective.
Coordinate cross-functional dependencies and governance reviews, ensure business deliverables are completed within project timelines with minimal ambiguity or rework.
Create implementation impact assessments, SOP/process note updates, training inputs, and knowledge repositories for business and support teams.
Track post-implementation outcomes, user feedback, production issues, and benefit realization to recommend additional improvements or automation opportunities.
Mentor analysts and junior team members; improve documentation quality, requirement discipline, and stakeholder communication.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
Working familiarity with AI tools / copilots or other AI tools (as per company policy) for documentation support, requirement analysis, meeting summarization, productivity enhancement, and insight generation, with strong judgment on accuracy, data privacy, and governance.
Strong hands-on experience in BRD, FRD/FSD, process notes, use cases, gap analysis, impact assessment, and functional requirement documentation.
Good understanding of SDLC / Agile delivery, change management, UAT lifecycle, and defect handling.
Working knowledge of Ingenium or similar Life Insurance policy administration platforms.
Ability to analyze data/process issues and drive business process improvements; exposure to automation opportunities is preferred.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio/process mapping, and requirement tracking tools (e.g., JIRA/ALM or equivalent).
Basic exposure to SQL/data analysis/Python is preferred for better requirement analysis and automation orientation.
Domain Skills
Strong Life Insurance Operations knowledge covering policy servicing / POS / policy administration / underwriting touchpoints / claims or related operational journeys.
Awareness of where AI can and cannot be applied in regulated insurance processes, especially for decision support versus final business approval.
Good understanding of insurance products, transaction controls, audit/compliance expectations, regulatory/process governance, and customer impact in operations.
Experience in product launch/change implementation within Life Insurance operations environments.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Technology, Engineering, Insurance, or related discipline; additional professional qualification preferred.
7–10 years of total experience, with significant exposure to Life Insurance operations and business analysis / change delivery roles.
Experience in documentation for regulatory, audit, compliance, or process control initiatives.
Experience in automation, workflow redesign, AI-assisted analysis, or control-improvement initiatives is preferred.
