- Maintenance Planning: Developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs, renovations, and installations to minimize downtime.
- Technical Oversight: Diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Inventory and Budget Management: Maintaining records of spare parts, equipment, and supplies, managing procurement, and estimating costs for repairs or contractor services.
- Inspections and Reporting: Conducting regular inspections of facilities and equipment, documenting maintenance activities, and reporting to upper management.
- Collaboration: Coordinating with other departments to minimize operational disruptions and implementing continuous improvement practices for maintenance processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in building systems, machinery, and various trades such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to guide, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and implement preventive measures.
- Organizational Skills: Proficiency in scheduling, record-keeping, and coordinating multiple maintenance projects.
- Experience: Prior roles such as Maintenance Technician, Facilities Coordinator, or Lead Hand are often preferred.
- Education and Certifications: Typically, a high school diploma or equivalent is required, with additional certifications in facility management, safety, or technical trades being advantageous.
