Job Description
We are hiring an experienced Lead GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud-native data engineering, modern data architecture, real-time data processing, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop batch and real-time data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Composer (Airflow).
- Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Design modern data warehouses, data lakes, and scalable data models.
- Optimize BigQuery performance through query tuning, partitioning, and clustering.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, governance, and security best practices.
- Mentor engineering teams and lead architecture discussions.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI teams, Product Owners, and Solution Architects.
- Support infrastructure automation using Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Required Skills
- 12+ years of Data Engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- 3+ years of Technical Leadership or Solution Architecture experience.
- Strong experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, and Bigtable.
- Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, Shell Scripting, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and CI/CD.
- Expertise in Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Data Modeling, Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling, Event-Driven Architecture, and Microservices.
- Experience with IAM, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Cloud KMS, and VPC.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
Mandatory Certification
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer Certification.
Preferred Skills
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Certification.
- Experience with dbt, Looker, Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, AutoML, Kafka, Apache Spark, and Data Mesh.
- Exposure to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Industrial domains.
