BACKGROUND
The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society and enhancing the quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India.
THF works for the health and well-being of remote and underserved populations, with a special focus on children, women, and persons with disabilities. The Foundation also promotes holistic education and livelihood development within communities.
THF follows a two-fold strategy that involves:

Identifying and working in Aspirational Districts and high-poverty regions across North, North-East, and East India.

Catering to lower-income and migratory populations through urban development programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its various programs. The Foundation works directly with communities through on-ground project implementation while also providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations funded through THF USA and RIST.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) under CSR Project – Sambalpur, Odisha
India's healthcare system faces increasing challenges due to rising healthcare costs and the growing prevalence of chronic diseases, particularly in rural and underserved areas. To bridge this gap, innovative healthcare delivery models such as Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) play a vital role.
MMUs help reduce healthcare disparities by providing:

Urgent medical care

Preventive health screenings

Chronic disease management services
These services are delivered directly within communities, making healthcare more accessible, affordable, and responsive to local needs.
The Hans Foundation operates MMUs in underdeveloped and hard-to-reach areas, providing quality primary healthcare services and promoting health awareness. Currently, MMUs are operational across the states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, and Rajasthan.

The team is further supported by village-level health workers, ensuring comprehensive healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.
Through the MMU initiative, THF aims to provide equitable, accessible, and quality healthcare services to underserved rural populations across India.
JOB PURPOSE
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the successful implementation of field-level project activities and will report directly to the Project Manager.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The key responsibilities of this position include:

Responsible for implementation of project activities at the field level and coordination with external stakeholders within the project area.

Support MMU teams in community mobilization to ensure optimal utilization of MMU services.

Facilitate compliance with government norms and regulations related to MMU operations.
-
Coordinate baseline surveys and project monitoring activities.
-
Identify community health workers and support their recruitment process.
-
Assist the Senior Project Coordinator/Project Manager in preparing MMU movement schedules and ensuring effective implementation of project activities.
-
Monitor and track MMU operations through GPS tracking systems and other monitoring mechanisms.

Prepare and maintain all project-related reports and documentation, including:

MIS reports
-
Financial reports
-
Narrative reports
-
Field observation and visit reports
-
Case studies
-
Photographs and project documentation
-
Coordinate with various departments and institutions, including:
-
Health Sub-Centres (HSCs)
-
Primary Health Centres (PHCs)
-
Community Health Centres (CHCs)
-
Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members
-
Women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
-
Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committees (VHSNCs)
-
Liaise with health and other line departments at district and block levels to ensure their support and involvement in project activities.

Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress and provide supportive supervision to MMU teams and village health workers.
-
Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager from time to time.
OTHER INDICATIVE REQUIREMENTS

Master's Degree in Social Sciences or any relevant discipline.
-
Preference will be given to candidates possessing a Diploma or Certificate in Computer Applications.

Functional/Technical Skills and relevant Experience & Other Requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certificate etc)

Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in public health programs, development sector projects, NGOs, or non-profit organizations.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Strong project management and coordination skills.

Demonstrated passion for social impact and community development.

Excellent communication and documentation skills in English and Hindi.

Strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.

Leadership and team management capabilities.

Willingness to travel extensively to remote and rural areas.
