Job Title: Head – Research & Development (Dermaceuticals / Cosmetic Division)

Position Overview
Company is seeking a highly experienced R&D Head with strong expertise in
dermatology-driven cosmetic and dermaceutical product development. The role will lead
innovation, formulation strategy, regulatory alignment, and commercialization of scientifically backed skincare and therapeutic cosmetic products.
The ideal candidate should have deep technical knowledge of active ingredients, clinical-backed formulations, skin biology, and dermatology-focused product pipelines.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Strategic & Innovation Leadership
Define and execute the R&D strategy for dermaceutical and advanced skincare portfolios.
Drive innovation in treatment-based skincare categories (acne, pigmentation, anti-aging,
sensitive skin, hair/scalp disorders, etc.).
Identify emerging dermatological trends, actives, delivery systems, and global
innovations.
Build long-term product pipelines aligned with business and brand strategy.
2. Dermaceutical Product Development
Lead formulation development of dermatology-oriented products including creams, gels,
serums, lotions, cleansers, sunscreens, and prescription-support cosmetics.
Work with high-performance active ingredients such as peptides, retinoids, AHAs/BHAs,
ceramides, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and other clinically validated compounds.
Ensure stability, compatibility, safety, and efficacy validation through lab and clinical
testing.
Oversee pilot trials, scale-up, and technology transfer to manufacturing.
3. Clinical & Regulatory Expertise
Ensure compliance with cosmetic and dermaceutical regulatory frameworks.
Coordinate dermatological testing, safety assessments, and clinical substantiation studies.
Prepare and review technical dossiers, claims substantiation, and product documentation.
Work closely with regulatory and quality teams to ensure GMP adherence.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing for product positioning based on scientific claims.
Support Sales teams with technical training and product knowledge.
Collaborate with Procurement for sourcing advanced raw materials and evaluating
suppliers.
5. Lab & Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and expand the R&D team including formulators and analysts.
Establish SOPs, validation protocols, and testing standards.
Manage R&D budgets, lab infrastructure, and innovation investments.
