Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Laboratory Technician to perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain laboratory equipment and standards. The role is critical in supporting doctors with timely and precise diagnostic results for patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, label, and process patient samples (blood, urine, stool, etc.)
- Perform routine laboratory tests in hematology, biochemistry, and pathology
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
- Ensure accuracy and timely reporting of test results
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the laboratory area
- Manage laboratory consumables, reagents, and stock levels
- Maintain laboratory records, registers, and quality control logs
- Assist in internal audits and regulatory inspections
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- DMLT / BMLT from a recognized institution
- Registration with the appropriate state authority (if applicable)
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or diagnostic lab
- (Freshers may be considered under supervision)
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control practices
- Basic computer skills for reporting and lab software
- Ability to communicate in Malayalam
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights or weekends if required
- Experience handling automated analyzers
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
- Ability to handle patient samples with care and professionalism
- Team-oriented and responsible work attitude
