Position Overview
MediaKind is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Global Tax team. This role will support tax accounting, compliance, reporting, and related tax activities across our global organization, with a particular focus on international operations.
The Senior Tax Accountant will work closely with the Global Tax team, regional Finance teams, Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and external advisors to support accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance while helping strengthen and simplify our tax processes.
This is a hands-on role well suited for someone who brings strong tax accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to manage responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions in a dynamic global business.
Key Responsibilities
Indirect Tax Management
- Manage US sales and use tax compliance functions.
- Oversee international VAT, GST, and local transactional filings.
- Review monthly indirect tax reconciliations for accounting ledgers.
- Monitor changing nexus laws to ensure proper registrations.
- Maintain tax automation software integration with the ERPs.
Tax Accounting, Compliance & Reporting
- Support corporate income tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including coordination of tax return preparation and filings with external advisors.
- Support the global tax provision and financial reporting process, including preparation of tax calculations, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and related analysis.
- Prepare and review tax account reconciliations, tax packages, workpapers, and other documentation required for tax reporting and compliance.
- Support tax-related components of local statutory financial statements and audits.
- Coordinate tax payments, installments, refunds, assessments, and notices, maintaining accurate and timely records.
- Support withholding tax compliance, treaty relief and reclaim processes, residency certificates, and related documentation.
- Assist with transfer pricing compliance and operational requirements, including intercompany charges, true-ups, Local File data packages, disclosures, and other documentation.
- Support international tax audits, inquiries, and notices in coordination with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
Process Improvement, Controls & Technology
- Maintain the global tax compliance calendar and support effective management of filing, reporting, and payment deadlines.
- Help standardize tax workpapers, account reconciliations, templates, checklists, and documentation to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline tax accounting, compliance, reconciliations, reporting, and data collection.
- Support the development, documentation, and execution of tax processes and internal controls.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Global Tax function.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field; CPA, ACA, or other relevant professional accounting/tax qualification preferred.
- Approximately 3+ years of relevant tax accounting or corporate tax experience, gained through public accounting, a multinational corporate environment, or a combination of both.
- Experience with indirect tax compliance, corporate income tax compliance, tax accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experience working in a multi-jurisdictional or multinational environment strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of international tax concepts, including withholding tax and transfer pricing requirements.
- Experience working with external tax advisors and auditors.
- Strong accounting, analytical, and reconciliation skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across jurisdictions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with both tax and non-tax stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating across functions, cultures, and time zones.
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to maintaining accurate, well-documented work.
- Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in using technology and automation to improve tax processes.
