Job Description – IT Executive (Hotel)
Position: IT Executive
Department: Information Technology (IT)
Industry: Hospitality / Hotel
Reports To: IT Manager / General Manager
Job Summary:
The IT Executive is responsible for managing and maintaining the hotel’s IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software, network systems, and hospitality applications. The role includes providing technical support to all hotel departments, maintaining data security, and ensuring uninterrupted technology services for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. IT Infrastructure & Network Management
- Maintain and monitor hotel servers, computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Manage LAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, switches, routers, and network security.
- Coordinate with internet service providers and external IT vendors for issue resolution.
- Ensure regular system updates, backups, and preventive maintenance.
2. Hotel Software & Applications Support
- Maintain and provide support for hotel management systems such as PMS.
- Troubleshoot software-related issues and ensure smooth operation of all applications.
- Coordinate with software vendors for upgrades, troubleshooting, and implementation of new systems.
3. User Support & Helpdesk
- Provide technical assistance to employees for hardware, software, email, and system-related issues.
- Resolve IT tickets and maintain records of incidents and solutions.
- Train hotel staff on the proper use of IT systems and applications.
4. Information Security & Data Protection
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures.
- Manage antivirus solutions, firewalls, access controls, and password policies.
- Monitor data backups and support disaster recovery processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of hotel and guest information.
5. Guest Technology Support
- Ensure smooth functioning of guest Wi-Fi, smart TVs, digital services, and other guest-facing technology.
- Address guest technology-related complaints promptly and professionally.
6. Asset & Vendor Management
- Maintain inventory of IT assets, licenses, warranties, and accessories.
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement, AMC services, repairs, and technical support.
- Ensure proper documentation of IT purchases and service records.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain IT logs, asset registers, network diagrams, and system documentation.
- Prepare periodic reports on IT performance, issues, and improvement initiatives.
- Support IT audits and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2–5 years of IT support experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of networking, Windows operating systems, servers, cloud services, and cybersecurity practices.
- Experience with hotel systems such as PMS and other hospitality applications.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency IT issues.
