- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 12–18 years of experience in the Rubber Manufacturing Industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Plant Head / Factory Head / Production Head role.
- Experience in LPG Hose, Hydraulic Hose, Industrial Hose, Rubber Extrusion, and Rubber Molding is mandatory.

Job Summary
The Plant Head will be responsible for overall plant operations, including production planning, process optimization, quality assurance, maintenance, inventory management, manpower planning, safety compliance, and continuous improvement. The role requires strong expertise in rubber compounding, extrusion, curing, reinforcement, hose manufacturing processes, and quality systems to ensure efficient plant performance while meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Operations
- Lead complete manufacturing operations of LPG Hose and Hydraulic Hose production.
- Achieve production targets with optimum utilization of manpower and machinery.
- Monitor daily production schedules and ensure timely order execution.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and production efficiency.
- Minimize production downtime and process losses.
- Optimize machine utilization and manufacturing costs.
Rubber Technology & Process Development
- Supervise rubber compound development and processing.
- Monitor mixing, calendaring, extrusion, braiding/spiraling, curing, and finishing processes.
- Ensure correct process parameters for every production stage.
- Optimize cycle times and reduce process variations.
- Troubleshoot rubber processing issues and recommend corrective actions.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with BIS, IS, ISO 9001, and customer specifications.
- Maintain strict quality standards throughout production.
- Analyze customer complaints and implement CAPA.
- Monitor rejection, scrap, and rework percentages.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for product validation and testing.
Maintenance
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of all production equipment.
- Coordinate breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Improve machine reliability and equipment life.
Planning & Inventory
- Coordinate with PPC for production planning.
- Monitor raw material availability.
- Optimize inventory of rubber compounds, reinforcement materials, chemicals, and finished goods.
- Reduce inventory carrying costs while avoiding stock-outs.
Cost Control
- Control manufacturing costs.
- Reduce wastage of rubber compounds and chemicals.
- Improve productivity through Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Monitor power, fuel, and utility consumption.
Team Management
- Lead production, maintenance, quality, stores, and dispatch teams.
- Conduct manpower planning and performance evaluations.
- Develop employee skills through regular training.
- Foster discipline, teamwork, and a high-performance culture.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure compliance with all statutory safety regulations.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and TPM practices.
- Maintain safe handling of rubber chemicals and process equipment.
- Ensure proper use of PPE across the plant.
- Lead safety audits and emergency preparedness activities.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive process improvement projects.
- Implement root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Improve productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
- Introduce automation and best manufacturing practices where feasible.
