- Career Counseling: Offering guidance on career paths, particularly required by CBSE for high school students.
- Collaboration: Working with parents and teachers to support student development.
- Education: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work is typically required.
- Training: Specialized training in school counseling or a Post Graduate Diploma is preferred.
- Mandatory Training: CBSE has mandated that wellness counsellors complete 50 hours of capacity-building programs.
- Skill Set: Strong listening skills, patience, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
