Job Summary
Sea Blue Shipyard is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead and oversee all shipyard operations, ensuring the successful execution of shipbuilding, ship repair, fabrication, and marine engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive experience in shipyard operations, and a proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day shipyard operations, including production, fabrication, outfitting, maintenance, and repair activities.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
- Plan, monitor, and control project schedules, manpower allocation, equipment utilization, and material availability.
- Ensure timely completion of shipbuilding and repair projects while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, procurement, QA/QC, HSE, and project management teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify operational risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, lean manufacturing practices, and cost optimization.
- Ensure compliance with classification society requirements, statutory regulations, and client specifications.
- Maintain high standards of workplace safety and ensure compliance with HSE policies.
- Review production reports, KPIs, budgets, and operational performance metrics.
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Lead recruitment, training, performance management, and development of operational teams.
- Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and management reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
- MBA in Operations Management is an added advantage.
- Relevant certifications in Project Management or Lean Manufacturing are preferred.
Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore fabrication, or heavy engineering industries.
- Minimum 8 years in a senior leadership or operations management role.
- Experience managing large shipbuilding projects and multidisciplinary teams.
