Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, taxation, payroll, statutory compliance, vendor management, and project-based financial tracking. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with accuracy and integrity.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts using Tally Prime and other accounting software.
- Record daily financial transactions, journal entries, receipts, payments, and adjustments.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
- Maintain ledgers and ensure timely closure of accounts.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Generate and manage client invoices.
- Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Reconcile vendor and customer accounts regularly.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and file GST returns.
- Manage TDS deductions, returns, and compliance.
- Coordinate with Chartered Accountants for audits and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper financial documentation for audits and inspections.
Payroll & Employee Finance
- Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain employee reimbursement records.
- Ensure statutory deductions and employee-related compliances are completed.
Production & Project Accounting
- Track budgets for advertising campaigns, film productions, animation projects, and creative assignments.
- Maintain project-wise cost sheets and profitability reports.
- Handle petty cash and production expenses during shoots.
- Verify vendor quotations, purchase orders, and production bills.
- Prepare project financial summaries for management review.
Financial Planning & MIS
- Prepare Monthly MIS reports and financial dashboards.
- Assist management with budgeting and financial planning.
- Monitor operational expenses and recommend cost optimisation measures.
- Support management in financial forecasting and decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an advertising agency, media company, film production house, creative agency, or service-based organisation.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime is mandatory.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, Pivot Tables, financial reporting, and data analysis.
- Experience handling GST, TDS, payroll, statutory compliance, and audits.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Zoho Books, Busy, or similar platforms will be an added advantage.
