Job Purpose
To lead and manage the procurement function, ensuring timely availability of quality materials, competitive pricing, cost optimization, supplier reliability, and compliance with company procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business requirements.
- Manage end-to-end procurement of food, beverages, consumables, equipment, supplies, and other operational requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and commercial conditions to achieve cost savings.
- Monitor market prices, trends, availability, and alternative sources.
- Ensure procurement is carried out within approved budgets and company policies.
- Establish and maintain an approved supplier/vendor database.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews covering quality, pricing, delivery, and service.
- Coordinate with Operations, Finance, Stores, and other departments to understand purchasing requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery and avoid stock-outs or unnecessary overstocking.
- Monitor purchase orders, quotations, approvals, and procurement documentation.
- Develop cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives without compromising quality.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, statutory, and company procurement standards.
- Lead and mentor the procurement team and establish clear performance objectives.
- Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis, savings reports, and management dashboards.
- Support audits and ensure proper documentation and transparency throughout the procurement process.
