About the Role
As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for validating end-to-end payment processing systems including:
- Transaction processing
- UPI/Card/NetBanking flows
- Refund and reversal flows
- Settlement validations
- API integrations
Key Responsibilities
Functional Testing
- Perform end-to-end testing of payment gateway applications
- Validate payment transaction lifecycle from initiation to settlement
- Test merchant payment flows across multiple payment methods
- Verify transaction status handling:
- Success
- Failed
- Pending
- Timeout
- Reversal
- Refund
- Validate reconciliation and settlement reports
- Execute smoke, sanity, regression, and integration testing
API Testing
- Test REST APIs using:
- Postman
- cURL
- Authentication headers
- Tokens
- Signature validation
- Response codes
- Verify third-party bank and switch integrations
Database Testing
- Write and execute SQL queries for:
- Data validation
- Settlement verification
- Duplicate transaction checks
- Refund validation
Payment Domain Testing
- Test payment methods:
- Credit Cards
- Debit Cards
- UPI
- Wallets
- Net Banking
- 3DS authentication
- Callback/Webhook handling
- Test merchant redirection and response flows
Security & Compliance Testing
- Basic understanding of:
- PCI-DSS
- OWASP vulnerabilities
- Encryption concepts
Performance & Load Testing
- Execute load and stress testing using JMeter
- Simulate concurrent transaction requests
- Identify bottlenecks and performance issues
Defect Management
- Log, track, and manage defects using:
- Jira
- Coordinate with developers for issue resolution
- Prepare detailed bug reports with logs and screenshots
Required Skills
Mandatory Skills
- Strong Manual Testing experience
- API Testing knowledge
- SQL and Database testing
- Payment Gateway domain understanding
- Experience with Postman
- Knowledge of SDLC and STLC
- Regression and Integration Testing
- Bug tracking tools experience
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Relevant QA certifications are a plus
