Orion Group of Hotels is seeking a skilled and passionate Multicuisine Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a diverse range of high-quality dishes across multiple cuisines (including Indian, Chinese, and Continental) to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our hotel guests.
The ideal candidate should have a strong command of kitchen operations, a keen eye for food presentation, and the ability to maintain strict hygiene standards in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes across various cuisines (Indian, Tandoor, Indo-Chinese, and basic Continental) adhering to established hotel recipes and presentation standards.
- Menu Execution: Assist in daily kitchen operations, ensuring all meals for hotel guests, room service, and banquets are prepared efficiently and served on time.
- Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor stock levels, handle food prep (mise en place), and minimize food wastage through smart portion control and inventory rotation.
- Hygiene & Food Safety: Maintain impeccable cleanliness and sanitation standards across all workstation areas, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen utility staff and front-of-house service team to ensure smooth day-to-day restaurant and room service operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience working as a Commis or Demi Chef de Partie (DCDP) in a hotel, resort, or commercial restaurant kitchen.
- Cuisine Expertise: Proven hands-on experience in preparing North/South Indian dishes, Tandoor, and Indo-Chinese food.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment operations.
- Education: A diploma or degree in Hotel Management/Culinary Arts is preferred but not mandatory if backed by solid practical experience.
- Attributes: Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak dining hours, excellent teamwork skills, and a strong work ethic.
