Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Commvault Backup Engineer (L2) to manage, support, and optimize enterprise backup environments using Commvault. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience with enterprise backup solutions, and the ability to resolve complex backup and recovery issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise backup infrastructure using Commvault.
- Monitor daily backup jobs and resolve backup/restoration failures.
- Perform backup, restore, replication, and archive operations.
- Troubleshoot L2 incidents related to backup infrastructure, storage, and SAN connectivity.
- Implement configuration changes, upgrades, and patches in Commvault environments.
- Collaborate with Storage, Virtualization, Network, and System Administration teams.
- Ensure backup operations align with business continuity and disaster recovery objectives.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational reports.
- Perform capacity planning and backup storage optimization.
- Provide technical guidance to L1 support engineers and participate in escalation handling.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Commvault Backup Administration.
- Experience with enterprise backup and recovery environments.
- Knowledge of SAN, NAS, Tape Libraries, Disk-to-Disk Backup, and Object Storage.
- Good understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of storage protocols such as NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of overall IT Infrastructure experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in Commvault Backup Administration.
- Experience supporting enterprise backup environments.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commvault Certification.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- Experience with PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting.
- Exposure to backup solutions such as Veeam, Cohesity, or Veritas NetBackup.
- Experience with NetApp, Dell EMC, Data Domain, or similar storage platforms.
Pay: Up to ₹1,500,000.00 per year
