Role: SAP Integration Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled SAP Integration Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and supporting integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in middleware, APIs, and SAP integration technologies to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable data exchange across enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain integrations between SAP (S/4HANA/ECC) and third-party systems.
- Develop and manage interfaces using SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI (BTP Integration Suite), REST/SOAP APIs, IDocs, RFC, and OData.
- Work with middleware platforms to enable seamless data flow across applications.
- Collaborate with functional teams (FI/CO, MM, SD, HCM, etc.) to understand integration requirements.
- Monitor interface performance, troubleshoot failures, and ensure high availability.
- Implement security standards for APIs and data exchange.
- Maintain technical documentation for all integrations and workflows.
- Support upgrades, migrations (e.g., ECC to S/4HANA), and integration testing.
- Optimize existing integrations for performance and scalability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of SAP integration experience.
- Strong hands-on with SAP PI/PO and/or SAP CPI (BTP Integration Suite).
- Experience with IDocs, RFC, BAPI, Proxy, OData, REST, SOAP.
- Knowledge of S/4HANA and ECC integration architecture.
- Experience with API management and middleware tools.
- Understanding of JSON, XML, XSLT, and message mapping.
- Basic ABAP knowledge for debugging integration issues.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and third-party system integrations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with SAP API Management.
- Exposure to Event Mesh, EDI, or Ariba/SuccessFactors integrations.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD for integration deployments.
- Understanding of security protocols (OAuth2.0, SSL, SAML).
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Good documentation and analytical skills.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
