Job Description – Product Merchandiser
- Position: Product Merchandiser (Home Decor / Handicrafts)
- Location: Bangalore / Coimbatore
- Work Mode: Onsite
- Working Days: 6 days a week
- Qualification: Graduate
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Product Development & Sampling:
Translate design concepts into physical samples. Coordinate with artisans, monitor the creation of prototypes, and secure necessary buyer approvals.
2. Artisan Sourcing & Vendor Management:
Identify, negotiate with, and onboard skilled rural artisans and craft manufacturers. Maintain a reliable supply chain while ensuring fair trade practices.
3. Material Procurement:
Source traditional, eco-friendly, or regional raw materials (e.g., specific woods, textiles, metals) required for the handcrafted products.
4. Quality Control:
Conduct inline and final quality inspections to ensure the finished goods meet both buyer standards and authentic handcrafted quality criteria.
5. Order Tracking & Logistics:
Create and manage strict Time & Action (T&A) calendars. Track purchase orders, ensure on-time production, and handle export/shipping documentation.
6. Costing & Pricing:
Negotiate piece rates with craftspeople while factoring in material costs and shipping to maximize profit margins for the brand.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: 2–5 years of experience in product merchandising, preferably within textile, home decor, handicraft export, or furniture industries.
- Cultural Awareness: Strong appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, regional art forms, and cultural heritage.
- Supply Chain Knowledge: Familiarity with rural production networks, cottage industries, and decentralized supply chains.
- Analytical & Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation abilities and proficiency in maintaining costing sheets and inventory tracking.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
