Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Product Development Manager to drive new product innovation and portfolio expansion for the Shazia Rice brand. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FMCG product development, market research, consumer insights, competitor benchmarking, and vendor management. This role requires identifying emerging market opportunities, developing successful products, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely product launches.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Product Development, Food Technology, Food Science, Business Management, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in Product Development within the FMCG industry.
- Experience in food products, packaged foods, or rice products will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development
- Lead end-to-end product development from concept to commercial launch.
- Identify new product opportunities based on market trends and consumer demand.
- Develop innovative FMCG food products aligned with business objectives.
- Improve existing products to enhance quality, packaging, pricing, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate product trials, testing, and commercial production.
Market Research
- Conduct in-depth research on FMCG market trends, consumer behavior, and emerging product categories.
- Gather customer insights to identify unmet market needs.
- Evaluate new business opportunities and recommend product expansion strategies.
Product Research
- Research ingredients, formulations, packaging materials, and product innovations.
- Study domestic and international food trends for product development.
- Analyze product performance and recommend improvements.
Competitor Analysis
- Monitor competitors' product portfolios, pricing strategies, packaging, promotions, and market positioning.
- Conduct benchmarking studies to identify competitive advantages.
- Prepare detailed competitor analysis reports with actionable recommendations.
Vendor Management & Negotiation
- Identify and develop new vendors for raw materials, packaging, and product components.
- Negotiate pricing, quality standards, commercial terms, and delivery schedules.
- Build long-term relationships with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and consistent quality.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Procurement, Production, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain teams.
- Support product launches by providing technical and commercial inputs.
- Ensure seamless coordination from product concept to market launch.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure products comply with FSSAI and other applicable food safety regulations.
- Maintain product documentation, specifications, and SOPs.
- Support quality improvement initiatives.
