Core responsibilities
- Inventory management: Receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Stock control: Monitoring stock levels to avoid overstocking or shortages, and performing regular stock checks against records.
- Receiving and dispatching: Inspecting incoming deliveries for damage or discrepancies and preparing goods for dispatch.
- Record keeping: Maintaining receipts, withdrawal records, and other necessary documentation. This can include generating reports like the Material Received Report (MRR).
- Organization and maintenance: Keeping the storage area clean, organized, and safe, and ensuring proper storage methods, such as the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method, are followed.
- Stock handling: Unpacking, labeling, and shelving supplies, as well as handling stock rotation and the disposal of surplus or expired goods.
- Coordination: Working with other departments, such as sales and operations, to support logistical efficiency and coordinating the movement of equipment.
