Role Overview
This role sits at the point where sustainability expertise meets delivery. You will run multiple ESG workstreams end to end, act as the main point of contact between our consultants and our clients, and build the capability of the teams you work with — both internally and on the client side.
Technical ESG knowledge matters here, but it is not what will make you effective. What will is the ability to keep several projects moving at once, explain complex frameworks to people who do not work in sustainability, and leave client teams able to carry the work forward themselves.
What we are looking for
Project management. You will own delivery across concurrent ESG engagements — scoping, sequencing, resourcing, tracking and closing. You will hold timelines against competing client demands, escalate early when something slips, and keep documentation clean enough that any colleague can pick up your project cold.
Communication. You will write and present for boards, sustainability teams, auditors and operational staff, adjusting register for each. You will chair client meetings, produce clear written deliverables, and translate regulatory language into decisions people can act on. Much of the work is persuading rather than informing.
Training and capability building. You will design and deliver training for client teams and internal colleagues — workshops, framework walkthroughs, onboarding on new standards, and the supporting material that goes with them. A successful engagement leaves the client less dependent on us, not more.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver multiple ESG workstreams across environmental, social and governance domains, holding scope, timeline and quality
Act as primary liaison between internal teams, external consultants and client stakeholders
Design and run training sessions and workshops that build ESG capability in client and internal teams
Produce written deliverables — policies, transition plans, frameworks — to a standard that can go straight to a board
Develop and implement sustainability strategies aligned with the UN SDGs and the Paris Agreement
Build ESG governance and risk management frameworks, including Three Lines of Defence structures
Develop strategic deliverables including Net Zero Transition Plans and ESG frameworks
Maintain alignment with relevant regulatory and reporting standards throughout delivery
Qualifications
3–5 years in ESG, sustainability or project management
Demonstrable experience managing concurrent projects to deadline, with stakeholders at different levels of seniority
Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to senior audiences and facilitating group sessions
Experience designing or delivering training, workshops or capability-building programmes
Background in logistics, compliance or operations within energy, supply chain or financial services
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration or a related field; Master's preferred
Proven ability to translate sustainability goals into actionable programmes
Experience with expediting processes and conducting inspections is desirable
