Job Title: BMS Engineer (Building Management System)
Job Summary:
The BMS Engineer is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Building Management Systems (BMS) and integrated ELV systems. The engineer ensures all systems operate efficiently according to project specifications and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and commission BMS systems.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and BMS layouts.
- Program and configure BMS controllers, HMI, and SCADA systems.
- Integrate HVAC, Fire Alarm, Chiller, AHU, FCU, VFD, Lighting, DG, and Energy Monitoring systems.
- Perform I/O testing, point-to-point checking, and functional testing.
- Troubleshoot BMS hardware, software, and communication network issues.
- Prepare commissioning reports, as-built drawings, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and MEP contractors during project execution.
- Attend site meetings and provide technical support.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and project quality requirements.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of BMS systems.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of HVAC controls and automation.
- Experience with PLC, DDC Controllers, HMI, and SCADA.
- Knowledge of communication protocols:
- BACnet
- Modbus RTU/TCP
- KNX
- LonWorks
- OPC
- Understanding of electrical control panels and instrumentation.
- Ability to read AutoCAD drawings and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in BMS installation, commissioning, or maintenance (or fresher with relevant training).
