About the Role
Soi Wasabi is seeking a motivated Commis / Demi Chef de Partie specializing in Asian or Chinese cuisine to join our culinary team.
The position is based in our central kitchen in Vikhroli, where chefs collaborate to prepare high-quality dishes that support our restaurant operations. This role is ideal for chefs who want to strengthen their skills in Asian cooking while working in a professional and well-organized kitchen setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Asian and Chinese dishes according to standardized recipes
- Assist in mise en place and daily kitchen preparations
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning
- Follow kitchen hygiene, food safety, and sanitation protocols
- Coordinate with senior chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and prepared items
- Support the team during high-volume production and service periods
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of Asian or Chinese cooking techniques
- Familiarity with wok cooking, sauces, and ingredient preparation
- Ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Commitment to hygiene and professional kitchen standards
Qualifications & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in Asian or Chinese cuisine preferred
- Culinary training or hotel management background is an advantage
- Experience in high-volume or production kitchens is beneficial
