Job Summary:
The Maintenance Head is responsible for ensuring maximum uptime, efficiency, and reliability of all production equipment related to Laser Cutting Machines, Press Brake/Bending Machines, Powder Coating Plant, and allied utilities. This role involves preventive maintenance planning, breakdown management, spare inventory control, equipment improvement, safety compliance, and leading the maintenance team to support uninterrupted production operations.
This aligns with common responsibilities seen in fabrication and powder-coating operations such as preventive maintenance, breakdown handling, machine optimization, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:1. Preventive Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for:
- CNC Laser Cutting Machines
- Press Brake / Bending Machines
- Powder Coating Booths
- Ovens / Curing Systems
- Compressors
- DG Sets
- Material Handling Equipment
- Ensure routine inspections and servicing are completed on time.
- Maintain maintenance checklists and records.
2. Breakdown Maintenance
- Attend machine breakdowns immediately and ensure minimum downtime.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Coordinate with OEM/service providers for major repairs.
- Maintain breakdown analysis reports.
3. Machine Performance Optimization
- Improve machine efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor machine downtime and identify root causes.
- Implement corrective actions to reduce recurring failures.
- Support automation and machine upgrades.
4. Powder Coating Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain:
- Powder coating guns
- Booth systems
- Conveyor systems
- Baking ovens
- Air filtration systems
- Ensure proper temperature calibration and coating equipment performance.
Powder coating maintenance commonly includes equipment setup, cleaning, filter maintenance, and ensuring consistent coating quality.
5. Laser Machine Maintenance
- Maintain laser optics, nozzles, cooling systems, gas lines, and cutting beds.
- Ensure laser calibration and cutting quality.
- Monitor consumables usage.
Laser maintenance responsibilities often include nozzle cleaning, cutting bed replacement, and machine calibration.
6. Press Brake/Bending Machine Maintenance
- Maintain hydraulic systems, tooling alignment, electrical controls, and CNC systems.
- Ensure machine accuracy and bending precision.
- Handle tooling maintenance.
7. Spare Parts Management
- Maintain critical spare inventory.
- Coordinate procurement of maintenance spares.
- Control maintenance costs.
8. Team Management
- Lead and supervise maintenance technicians.
- Assign daily maintenance tasks.
- Train team members on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
9. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to plant safety standards.
- Conduct safety audits.
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain compliance documentation.
10. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain:
- Preventive maintenance records
- Breakdown reports
- MTTR/MTBF reports
- Equipment history cards
- Present monthly maintenance reports to management.

Required Qualifications:
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- 8–15 years of experience in fabrication/manufacturing maintenance
