Job Description
Marx Tradeink is hiring a Freight Purchase Manager with strong expertise in freight procurement, logistics coordination, and shipping line negotiations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for securing the most competitive freight rates by directly dealing with shipping lines and logistics providers while ensuring smooth and cost-effective shipment operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport vendors to secure the best freight rates
- Develop strong relationships with shipping lines to ensure priority bookings and cost advantages
- Monitor freight market trends, container rates, and shipping schedules
- Manage import/export logistics and shipment planning
- Coordinate with internal teams (sales, operations, warehouse) for timely dispatch and delivery
- Track shipments and resolve issues such as delays, demurrage, or damages
- Maintain rate contracts, vendor database, and performance reports
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in freight procurement / logistics / shipping
- Proven experience in negotiating with shipping lines for best rates
- Knowledge of international trade, import/export, and freight forwarding
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/logistics software
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in export-import businesses
- Understanding of container shipping, Incoterms, and pricing structures
Salary
₹20,000 – ₹90,000 per month (based on experience and expertise)
