Job Summary
The Academic In-Charge for the Pre-Primary Section is responsible for overseeing the academic and developmental programs of Nursery, LKG, and UKG classes. The role involves curriculum planning, teacher mentoring, classroom monitoring, assessment coordination, parent communication, and ensuring a nurturing, child-centered learning environment that supports the holistic development of young learners.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership
- Plan, implement, and monitor the pre-primary curriculum in alignment with the school's educational philosophy and standards.
- Ensure age-appropriate, activity-based, and experiential learning practices are followed.
- Monitor lesson planning, classroom activities, and teaching methodologies.
- Ensure timely completion of academic plans and learning objectives.
Teacher Supervision and Support
- Guide and mentor pre-primary teachers in effective classroom management and teaching strategies.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Organize teacher training programs, workshops, and professional development activities.
- Support teachers in creating engaging learning materials and classroom displays.
Child Development and Assessment
- Monitor children's academic, social, emotional, physical, and language development.
- Coordinate student assessments and maintain developmental records.
- Identify children requiring additional support and collaborate with teachers and parents to address learning needs.
- Ensure continuous observation and documentation of student progress.
Curriculum and Activity Planning
- Develop monthly and yearly academic plans.
- Coordinate theme-based learning activities, celebrations, and special events.
- Promote play-based learning and creative activities.
- Ensure the availability and effective use of teaching-learning resources.
Parent Engagement
- Conduct parent orientation programs and academic meetings.
- Address parent concerns related to children's learning and development.
- Maintain effective communication between teachers and parents.
- Share regular updates on student progress and school activities.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare academic reports for school management.
- Coordinate admissions assessments and orientation activities when required.
- Assist in planning school events, competitions, and exhibitions.
- Manage academic resources and inventory for the pre-primary section.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field. Preferred English literature degree
- Diploma or certification in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in pre-primary education.
- Prior experience in academic coordination or leadership is preferred.
