Job Summary
The General Manager is responsible for leading and managing the overall operations of the transport company. This role involves overseeing fleet management, logistics, customer service, finance, business development, regulatory compliance, and staff performance to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
* Oversee day-to-day transport and logistics operations.
* Ensure timely and efficient delivery of transportation services.
* Optimize fleet utilization and route planning to maximize productivity.
* Monitor operational performance and implement process improvements.
2. Fleet Management
* Ensure proper maintenance, servicing, and availability of vehicles.
* Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel efficiency, and operating costs.
* Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance schedules.
3. Financial Management
* Prepare and manage annual budgets and operational expenses.
* Monitor revenue, profitability, and cost-control measures.
* Review financial reports and implement strategies to improve margins.
4. Business Development
* Develop strategies to increase revenue and expand the customer base.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and business partners.
* Identify new market opportunities and service offerings.
5. Customer Service
* Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Address customer concerns and resolve service-related issues promptly.
* Maintain long-term relationships with clients through quality service.
6. Compliance & Safety
* Ensure compliance with all transport laws, road safety regulations, labor laws, and company policies.
* Maintain all required licenses, permits, and insurance documentation.
* Promote workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
7. Strategic Planning
* Develop and implement business strategies aligned with company objectives.
* Analyze market trends and competitor activities.
* Prepare management reports and present operational performance to senior leadership.
8. Performance Monitoring
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Review operational metrics, customer feedback, and financial performance.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, or a related field.
* MBA or postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Experience
* 10 - 15 years of experience in transport, logistics, or fleet management.
* Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or general management role.
* Proven experience managing large fleets, budgets, and cross-functional teams.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
