JD:
* Purchase manager supervises buyer’s activities and also will be directly involved in the sourcing and purchasing of components/products and services that company requires.
* Involves in sourcing suppliers, contract drafting, negotiation and managing suppliers through the whole procurement process.
* Deals with other factors such as sustainability, risk management and ethical issues related in procurement.
* Work alongside the senior management team in contributing to overall business objectives.
Roles and Responsibility of Purchase Manager:
* Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery.
* Negotiation with suppliers in order to get the best price and value for money.
* Interview vendors and visit suppliers' plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices.
* Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other information to determine reasonable prices.
* Work out policies with suppliers, such as when products will be delivered.
* Forecast levels of demand for services and products.
* Train and educate the junior members/Buyer’s of staff on the job and requirements.
* Improve the ability to lead and motivate a team.
* Conduct research on Alternate/equvialent to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
* Ensure the security and sustainability of sources of essential products and services.
* Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.
* Analyze market trend and possible growth.
* Analyze data and produce reports and statistics on spending and saving.
* Ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives.
* Planning skills in order to work out what the Management needs.
* Interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
* Ability to make decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines.
* Time management skills and the ability to deliver to deadlines.
* Meet with staff and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
* Maintain and review records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
* Active participation in KAIZEN and value engineering activities.
* Maintain the optimum level of Inventory and reduction in Non-moving inventory.

* Good communication skill
* Must be able to speak in Kannada.
Education: B.E. / Diploma ( Mechanical ) with minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in Heavy Engineering Industry.
