Job Description: Salesforce Commerce Cloud Tech Lead – SFCC & OMS
The purpose of this role is to lead the technical design, architecture, and implementation of Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C / SFCC and Order Management System / OMS solutions. The role is responsible for creating scalable, secure, and high-performing commerce architecture while ensuring that all relevant options are explored across time, cost, quality, compliance, and business requirements.
The Salesforce Commerce Cloud Tech Lead will oversee the end-to-end delivery of ecommerce solutions for internal and external clients, guiding the solution through architecture reviews, development governance, integration design, implementation, testing, and production support. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in SFCC development, OMS integration, ecommerce architecture, API-led integrations, and team leadership.

Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C / SFCC solutions.

Architect scalable ecommerce solutions using SFRA, SiteGenesis, OCAPI, SCAPI, Business Manager, and custom cartridges.

Lead and guide the implementation of Salesforce Order Management / OMS capabilities, including order capture, orchestration, fulfilment, returns, refunds, cancellations, and payment flows.

Translate business requirements into technical designs, solution architectures, and implementation plans.

Work closely with product owners, business analysts, architects, QA teams, DevOps teams, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality commerce solutions.

Design and implement integrations between SFCC and third-party systems such as OMS, ERP, CRM, payment gateways, tax engines, fraud management platforms, PIM, DAM, WMS, loyalty platforms, marketing platforms, and analytics platforms.

Lead development teams in building reusable components, cartridges, services, jobs, hooks, controllers, pipelines, and APIs.

Ensure adherence to Salesforce Commerce Cloud best practices, coding standards, security guidelines, and performance optimization standards.

Review technical designs, code, and configuration to ensure quality, maintainability, scalability, and compliance.

Troubleshoot complex SFCC, OMS, integration, performance, and production issues.

Support ecommerce features such as product catalog, pricing, promotions, campaigns, checkout, payments, customer accounts, search, personalization, and order lifecycle management.

Collaborate with solution architects to define integration patterns, data flows, security models, and deployment strategies.

Mentor junior developers and senior engineers on SFCC development practices and ecommerce domain concepts.

Participate in estimation, sprint planning, technical grooming, release planning, and delivery governance.

Support CI/CD implementation, release management, deployment activities, and environment management for SFCC projects.

Evaluate new Salesforce Commerce Cloud and OMS capabilities and contribute to technical roadmap planning.

Ensure solutions comply with privacy, security, accessibility, and regional ecommerce requirements relevant to the Indian and global markets.

Strong hands-on experience in Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C / SFCC development.

Experience as a Tech Lead / Lead Developer / Senior SFCC Developer in ecommerce implementation projects.

Strong knowledge of SFRA architecture, controllers, models, decorators, middleware, templates, forms, hooks, jobs, and custom cartridges.

Hands-on experience with JavaScript, ISML, HTML, CSS, jQuery, JSON, XML, and server-side scripting in SFCC.

Strong experience with OCAPI, SCAPI, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and integration frameworks.
-
Experience integrating SFCC with Order Management Systems / OMS, including order creation, order status, fulfilment, cancellation, returns, and refunds.

Good understanding of ecommerce business processes such as product catalogue management, pricing, promotions, inventory, checkout, payments, shipping, tax, customer management, and order lifecycle.

Experience with Business Manager configuration, including sites, catalogues, price books, promotions, content slots, campaigns, search, jobs, services, and custom preferences.

Strong understanding of SFCC service framework, custom jobs, system objects, custom objects, and data replication.

Experience with payment gateway integrations, third-party APIs, and secure checkout implementation.
-
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues related to SFCC, integrations, performance, caching, and production incidents.

Good understanding of web security, data privacy, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.
-
Experience with version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab.

Experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery models.

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with business stakeholders, technical teams, and client leadership.

Ability to lead technical discussions, provide estimates, manage development quality, and mentor team members.

Experience with Salesforce Order Management / Salesforce OMS.

Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, or Loyalty Management.

Knowledge of headless commerce architecture and composable commerce patterns.

Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, or Next.js.

Knowledge of MuleSoft, middleware platforms, or API management solutions.

Experience integrating SFCC with platforms such as SAP ERP, SAP Commerce, Manhattan OMS, IBM Sterling OMS, Salesforce OMS, Adyen, Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Cybersource, Algolia, Bloomreach, Akeneo, and Contentful.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and environment management.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools for ecommerce platforms.

Knowledge of SEO, web accessibility, page performance, Core Web Vitals, and mobile-first commerce design.

Client-facing experience in solution workshops, discovery sessions, technical demos, and architecture reviews.

Experience working with global retail, fashion, consumer goods, marketplace, or D2C ecommerce clients.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

MCA, MSc IT, or equivalent postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.

Graduates from other disciplines may also be considered if they have strong e-commerce domain knowledge, technical experience, communication skills, and analytical ability.
