Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to strengthen our in-house quality systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities, ensuring that all products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. The role requires close coordination with production to identify defects early, prevent quality issues, and maintain accurate quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct incoming material inspection by verifying raw materials, supplier test certificates, and material specifications before production.
- Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with customer drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor critical product characteristics including dimensions, spring load, free length, hardness, angles, surface finish, and appearance as per inspection plans.
- Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming products, ensuring timely containment and coordination with production for corrective actions.
- Maintain quality records including inspection reports, check sheets, calibration records, non-conformance reports (NCR), rejection reports, and traceability documentation.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions using quality tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and 8D methodology.
- Conduct regular process audits and ensure adherence to work instructions, control plans, SOPs, and IATF 16949 quality requirements.
- Operate and maintain measuring and testing equipment such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Hardness Testers, Load Testers, and other inspection instruments, ensuring calibration compliance.
- Coordinate with Production, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Stores to resolve quality issues, reduce internal rejection, and improve manufacturing processes.
- Assist in customer complaint investigations, PPAP documentation, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
