Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the endoscopy suite before procedures.
- Assist gastroenterologists during upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, ERCP, EUS, PEG insertion, and other gastroenterology procedures.
- Prepare and check endoscopes, processors, light sources, monitors, and accessories before each procedure.
- Assist in patient positioning, monitoring, and comfort during procedures.
- Prepare procedure trays, biopsy forceps, snares, guidewires, clips, balloons, injection needles, and other accessories.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures as instructed.
- Perform leak testing, manual cleaning, high-level disinfection (HLD), drying, and proper storage of endoscopes according to infection control guidelines.
- Maintain endoscopy equipment and report any malfunction to Biomedical Engineering.
- Maintain inventory of consumables and coordinate with stores for replenishment.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transport of biopsy specimens to the laboratory.
- Document procedure details, equipment usage, and disinfection logs.
- Assist in emergency endoscopic procedures and code situations when required.
- Educate patients regarding pre- and post-procedure instructions under the guidance of the clinical team.
- Follow NABH standards, biomedical waste management protocols, and infection prevention practices.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and audits
Required Skills
- Knowledge of GI endoscopy equipment and accessories.
- Understanding of endoscope reprocessing and high-level disinfection (HLD).
- Familiarity with ERCP, EUS, colonoscopy, and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.
- Basic patient monitoring skills.
- Infection control and biomedical waste management knowledge.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer and Hospital Information System (HIS) knowledge.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
