Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and responsible Electrician to handle the electrical maintenance and day-to-day electrical requirements of the hospital. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operation of electrical systems, equipment, lighting, power supply, and emergency electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and breakdown electrical maintenance throughout the hospital.
- Inspect and maintain electrical wiring, panels, switches, sockets, lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Attend electrical complaints and breakdowns promptly.
- Monitor and maintain DG sets, UPS systems, batteries, stabilizers, and emergency power supply systems as applicable.
- Check and maintain electrical distribution boards, MCC/DB panels, MCBs, MCCBs, contactors, relays, and related equipment.
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical areas such as ICU, OT, Emergency, Laboratory, Pharmacy, and other patient-care areas.
- Carry out routine inspection of electrical installations and identify potential safety hazards.
- Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems.
- Coordinate with external electrical contractors and service providers when required.
- Maintain records of preventive maintenance, breakdowns, inspections, and repairs.
- Ensure proper earthing and electrical safety systems.
- Follow electrical safety procedures and hospital safety policies.
- Use appropriate PPE and ensure safe working practices at all times.
- Support electrical works related to hospital renovation, expansion, and new installations.
- Ensure minimum disruption to hospital operations while carrying out maintenance work.
- Respond to electrical emergencies and power failures as required.
- Report major electrical faults and safety concerns to the Maintenance Manager / Engineer.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Valid electrical competency/license as required by applicable local regulations.
- Basic knowledge of electrical safety and maintenance procedures.
Experience
Preferred: 2–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance.
