Your future duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement enterprise data architecture across EDW, data lake, and cloud platforms
- Lead data migration and modernization initiatives (e.g., Teradata/Oracle BigQuery/Snowflake/Databricks)
- Design scalable data models (conceptual, logical, physical) including 3NF, dimensional, and lakehouse patterns
- Establish and enforce data standards, governance, naming conventions, and metadata management practices
- Architect high-performance data solutions, including partitioning, indexing, and query optimization strategies
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design ETL/ELT pipelines using modern frameworks (Airflow, Spark, DBT, etc.)
- Define data integration patterns across batch, real-time, and API-driven architectures
- Support DevOps and CI/CD adoption for data platforms, including automated deployments and environment management
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across platforms
- Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions
- Contribute to solutioning, estimations, and proposals for new client opportunities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and analysts
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data management
- Strong expertise in data modeling (3NF, dimensional modeling, and exposure to Data Vault is a plus)
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL and performance tuning on large-scale datasets
- Experience with data migration and modernization programs (on-prem to cloud, EDW transformations)
- Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise-scale data platform
(e.g., Teradata, BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift or similar)
- Strong understanding of distributed data processing and MPP architectures
- Experience designing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Shell, or similar)
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-native data platforms such as BigQuery, Databricks, or Snowflake
- Exposure to legacy enterprise databases (Teradata, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Exposure to GCP (preferred), Azure, or AWS data ecosystems
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Control-M, etc.)
- Familiarity with Lakehouse architecture, Data Mesh concepts, and modern data frameworks (DBT, Delta Lake, Iceberg)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms
- Prior experience in telecom or large-scale enterprise data environments
- Experience supporting RFPs, proposals, and client solutioning
