Shift: Late-day India shift (afternoon start to overlap with U.S. working hours)
Internship Type: Paid
Trustbridge Engineering, a division of Vulcury LLC, provides design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and engineering solutions for global clients across industrial, consumer, automotive, aerospace, and medical sectors.
Our team, led by an India-based senior engineer, works closely with U.S.-based clients to convert ideas into manufacturable, production-ready designs. We focus on real-world engineering—balancing performance, cost, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing constraints.
This internship is built for engineers who want practical exposure to how designs actually get manufactured.
We are looking for a DFM Engineer Intern who is eager to learn how engineering decisions translate to real production outcomes.
You will work directly with the Head Engineer on active client projects and internal initiatives. This role goes beyond drafting—you’ll develop an understanding of manufacturing feasibility, process selection, tolerances, and cost-driven design trade-offs.
This is a 12-week paid internship, with the possibility of a full-time role for strong performers.
Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
Review and develop mechanical designs with a focus on manufacturability
Apply DFM/DFA principles to improve part design, cost efficiency, and quality
Assist in refining designs based on manufacturing constraints and feedback
Prepare clear, production-ready engineering documentation
Engineering Analysis & Validation
Support basic simulations or engineering checks using ANSYS or similar tools
Assist with tolerance analysis, material selection, and design assumptions
Help identify design risks and recommend improvements
Manufacturing & Process Understanding
Research and evaluate manufacturing processes (CNC machining, sheet metal, casting, molding, etc.)
Support decisions related to materials, finishes, and processes
Assist with supplier- and process-related research when required
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with senior engineers on real client problems
Participate in virtual meetings with U.S.-based clients and internal teams
Communicate design intent, changes, and assumptions clearly in a remote setup
Contribute to improving internal engineering workflows and standards
Duration: 12 weeks (paid)
Mentorship: Regular guidance and feedback from experienced engineers
Growth Path: Opportunity for a full-time role based on performance and business needs
Hands-on experience with live client engineering work
Practical exposure to DFM and production-focused design
Understanding of how engineering decisions impact cost, quality, and timelines
Collaboration with international clients and teams
A strong foundation for a career in manufacturing-focused engineering
