Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks to join our engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving foundry machinery and material handling systems while ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and industrial equipment using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
- Develop designs for foundry equipment such as:
- Shot Blasting Machines
- Sand Coolers
- Sand Mix Mullers
- Intensive Mixers
- Molten Metal Handling Systems
- Conveyors and Storage Systems
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, and assembly teams for smooth project execution.
- Perform design modifications and improvements based on customer requirements and site conditions.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety norms, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Support installation and troubleshooting activities when required.
- Maintain proper documentation of drawings and design revisions.
- Work closely with procurement and vendors for component selection and development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Experience in industrial equipment, foundry machinery, or material handling systems preferred.
- Good understanding of fabrication processes, sheet metal design, and machine assembly.
- Knowledge of mechanical calculations and design standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in foundry equipment manufacturing or heavy engineering industry.
- Exposure to conveyor systems, mixers, vibratory equipment, or blasting systems.
- Knowledge of ERP/documentation systems is an added advantage.
