Job Summary
The Manager – Production Planning will be responsible for developing and executing production plans to ensure optimum utilization of manpower, materials, machines, and capacity while achieving production targets and customer delivery requirements. The role will coordinate closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchase, Supply Chain, QA/QC, Engineering, and other functions to ensure smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities :-
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare annual, monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on demand and business requirements.
- Develop production schedules considering capacity, manpower, machine availability, materials, and delivery priorities.
- Monitor Plan vs. Actual production and take corrective actions for deviations.
- Optimize production sequencing, capacity utilization, and manufacturing lead time.
Material & Inventory Planning
- Prepare material requirements based on production plans and BOM.
- Coordinate with Warehouse, Purchase, and Supply Chain to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor RM, PM, WIP, and FG inventory levels.
- Identify material shortages, excess inventory, and potential production risks.
Capacity & Resource Planning
- Analyze machine, manpower, and production-line capacity.
- Identify bottlenecks and coordinate recovery actions.
- Support shift planning, manpower requirements, overtime, and capacity expansion.
ERP / MIS & Reporting
- Manage production planning activities through ERP/SAP/MRP systems.
- Monitor production orders, material requirements, and order closure.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production planning MIS.
- Develop dashboards for production achievement, capacity, inventory, shortages, and schedule adherence.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, Warehouse, Purchase, Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D, and Sales.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), technology transfer, and production ramp-up activities.
- Ensure production plans consider quality release, validation, and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify planning inefficiencies and production bottlenecks.
- Drive initiatives to improve production efficiency, inventory turnover, capacity utilization, and on-time production completion.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and data-driven improvement initiatives.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Production/Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field.
- MBA/M.Tech/M.Sc. in Operations, Supply Chain, or related field will be an advantage.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in Production Planning/PPC/Manufacturing Planning.
- Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or managerial planning role.
- Experience in Medical Device, IVD, Diagnostics, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Healthcare Manufacturing preferred.
- Strong experience in MPS, MRP, capacity planning, production scheduling, inventory planning, and ERP/SAP.
