Job Summary
- The Junior Accountant will support the finance team in daily accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, assist in month-end closures, and help prepare financial reports. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with foundational accounting knowledge and eagerness to grow in a dynamic workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Recordkeeping & Reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries accurately.
- Maintain ledgers, balance sheets, and subsidiary accounts.
- Compile financial data for periodic reports (monthly/quarterly).
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Assist with processing invoices, supplier payments, and receipts.
- Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
Reconciliation & Compliance
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in preparing schedules for internal and external audits.
- Support GST/VAT return preparation and compliance checks.
Financial Close Support
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Help with the preparation of profit & loss reports and financial summaries.
General Support
- Maintain financial records and documentation systematically.
- Work with the team to streamline accounting processes and procedures.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational, analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Good communication (verbal & written).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- Prior internship or 1+ years of experience in accounting is a plus.
- Proficient with Tally, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Basic understanding of GST, tax compliance, and statutory regulations.
