A leading University in Bengaluru is seeking passionate and industry-oriented professionals for the role of Assistant / Associate Professor – Fashion Design (Technical). The ideal candidate should possess strong academic knowledge along with hands-on expertise in technical fashion processes including draping, garment construction, and pattern making.
- Deliver engaging classroom and practical studio sessions in:
- Draping Techniques
- Garment Construction
- Pattern Making
- Technical Fashion Development
- Sewing & Finishing Techniques
- Develop curriculum, lesson plans, assignments, and evaluation methods aligned with industry standards.
- Mentor and guide students on academic projects, portfolios, competitions, and fashion showcases.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and workshops in garment construction labs/studios.
- Support students in translating design concepts into technically executable garments.
- Participate in academic administration, accreditation processes, curriculum reviews, and departmental activities.
- Encourage industry exposure through live projects, collaborations, internships, and workshops.
- Contribute to research, innovation, publications, and academic development initiatives.

- Fabric Handling & Sewing Techniques
- Knowledge of industrial garment production processes.
- Understanding of fashion trends, fit analysis, and technical detailing.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and presentation skills.
- Ability to integrate practical learning with academic delivery.
- Master’s Degree in Fashion Design / Apparel Design / Fashion Technology or related field from a recognized institution.
- Candidates with industry exposure in apparel manufacturing, couture, or technical design will be preferred.
- Prior teaching experience in Universities / Design Institutes preferred.
- Associate Professor applicants should have relevant teaching/research experience as per UGC norms.
- Industry-oriented academician with hands-on technical expertise.
- Exposure to fashion labs, studio-based teaching, and portfolio mentoring.
- Candidates with research publications, design showcases, or industry collaborations will have an added advantage.
