Detailed Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for key assets like shearing machines, bending presses, welding stations, shot blasting machines and overhead cranes used in pipe support fabrication.
Lead a team of technicians and fitters, assigning tasks, conducting performance reviews, and providing training on safety protocols and equipment handling specific to MS material processing.
Manage maintenance budgets, procure spare parts/spares from vendors, and negotiate service contracts while tracking costs to align with production targets and job work timelines.
Perform root cause analysis for breakdowns using tools like 5-Why or FMEA, implement downtime reduction strategies, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 or local factory regulations.
Coordinate with production supervisors for planned shutdowns, support new equipment installations, and maintain utility systems (power, compressed air, water) for galvanizing prep and assembly lines
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with 4+ years in industrial maintenance (ideally metal fabrication or pipe manufacturing) and 3+ years in a managerial role.
Technical proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding repairs, and CMMS software (e.g., SAP PM or Maximo) for inventory and work order tracking
Strong leadership, analytical skills, and familiarity with lean maintenance practices to achieve >95% equipment uptime in high-volume operations
Certifications like CMRP or familiarity with vibration analysis, thermography for condition monitoring
Reporting and Work Environment
Reports to Plant/Operations Head. Involves shift work, on-call duties, and factory floor exposure with emphasis on PPE and zero-accident culture.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
